Items to consider before starting
According to Oprah Winfrey, "Love is in the details." And if you love or hate, sometimes the little things that can get in the way of planning an exceptional event. Before requesting a proposal, consider the following:
• Set your budget
• Make the guest list - this will help you estimate how many guests to expect
• Choose a location for the event
• Set a time and date
• Seated Meal
Works well at formal events such as weddings, galas or where a presentation will take place.
• Standing Reception
It works well for events with limited space, with short time or an event where you want to encourage friendship. Consider putting some cabaret tables around the place to place drinks.
• Partial Seating
It works well when your guest list includes a mixed group, or may extend over a period of time.
• Characteristics of the Bar
• No-Alcohol Bar
If you’re throwing a budget-conscious event, eliminating alcohol completely will help reduce costs. To add options, consider a special non-alcoholic drink, such as hibiscus and / or ginger tea ice cream.
• Wine and Beer
Variety is the spice of life ... except when you're waiting in line at the bar. Offering wine and beer as the only alcoholic options is cost-effective and keeps the line in front of a bar for guests to have more time to enjoy your event!
• Full Bar
A special day deserves the best. Events with large crowds or gatherings for an exceptional occasion may require a bar with full options for mixed drinks. Let your Account Executive know if you would like to serve special drinks such as mojitos or Appletinis, drinks that require additional mixers.
• • Methods of Food Presentation
Please discuss food allergies or dietary restrictions with your Account Executive.
• Served Appetizers
This option works for any event, either served as an appetizer before dinner or as an exclusive service of the party. They are easy to hold in hand, the menu offers variety and they’re easy to serve. However, keep in mind that you must wait staff to serve the appetizers, which can increase the staff estimate.
• Fixed Appetizers
Works well for open houses, auctions or reception, where guests arrive intermittently or move within the area of the event.
A popular choice and a service familiar to everyone. This option helps keep personnel costs low and is a good way to offer a variety of menu options.
• Seated Meal
There are two options for seated meals: Service veneer or French Service.
